Steel Bevel Brush

Our steel brushes are ideal for removing weeds or unwanted grass on pavers, curbstones, cobblestones or other hard to reach areas. Clean larger areas such as courtyards or terraces quicker and with far less effort than brushing and without the need of chemicals.

We have three different types of brush within our range:

  • Steel Knotted Bevel - The bristles are twisted to form separate, very strong arms, that are angled to give some movement when in use. They are also very good when working over uneven surfaces.
  • Steel Crimp Bevel - The bristles are not twisted so give a softer brushing than the knotted bevels.
  • Steel Knotted Wheel - Same design as the knotted bevel only the arms are on the outside of a wheel so are ideal for getting into tight edges or between blocks.

Product Description

Steel bevel brushes effectively remove weeds, clean and maintain outdoor surfaces, and restore garden tools and furniture. Their strength, durability, and precision make them indispensable tools for keeping
garden spaces clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

We have three different types of brush within our range:

Steel Knotted Bevel - The bristles are twisted to form separate, very strong arms, that are angled to give some movement when in use. They are also very good when working over uneven surfaces.

Steel Crimp Bevel - The bristles are not twisted so give a softer brushing than the knotted bevels.

Steel Knotted Wheel - Same design as the knotted bevel only the arms are on the outside of a wheel so are ideal for getting into tight edges or between blocks.

Our Steel Bevel Brushes are most recommended for:

Weed Removal

  • Steel bevel brushes are excellent for removing stubborn weeds, moss, and grass from cracks in pathways, patios, or driveways. The stiff bristles can reach into the crevices to uproot even the most persistent growth.
  • Precision: The bevelled design allows for targeted cleaning in hard-to-reach areas, such as between paving stones or along the edges of garden beds, ensuring thorough weed control without damaging surrounding plants or structures.

Pathway and Patio Cleaning

  • Dirt and Grime Removal: Over time, outdoor surfaces like stone pathways, brick patios, and garden walls accumulate dirt, algae, and other debris. Steel bevel brushes can be used to scrub these surfaces effectively, providing a deep clean that restores their appearance.
  • Tough on Stains: Steel bristles can tackle tough stains from mud, organic matter, or even rust on garden tools and structures. Their strength makes them effective for heavy-duty scrubbing without excessive wear and tear.

Rust and Paint Removal

  • Garden Tools Maintenance: Steel bevel brushes are ideal for removing rust from garden tools such as shovels, hoes, pruners, and trowels, extending their lifespan and maintaining their functionality. This helps keep the tools sharp and clean for optimal gardening performance.
  • Fence and Furniture Restoration: For metal garden furniture or fences that have become rusty or weathered, steel bevel brushes can be used to strip away rust and old paint in preparation for repainting or refinishing.

Durability for Outdoor Use

  • Weather Resistance: Steel bevel brushes are highly durable and can withstand exposure to outdoor elements like moisture and fluctuating temperatures, making them ideal for long-term garden use.
  • Heavy-Duty Applications: Unlike softer materials, steel bristles won’t wear down easily when dealing with tough tasks like scrubbing concrete, removing algae from stone, or cleaning large metal objects.

Pest and Mould Control

  • Clearing Organic Build-Up: Steel bevel brushes can help in clearing away mould, mildew, or pest nests from surfaces in the garden, such as under decking or around the bases of trees and shrubs. Keeping these areas clean can reduce potential pest problems and maintain the health of plants.

FAQs

How do I know which size will fit my strimmer?

If you can remove the attachment or strimming head of your strimmer you will see a metal rod onto which the head fitted. It is the diameter of this threaded rod that you have to measure as this is what the bevel will slip over and attach to.

I'm worried they could damage my surface. Is there an alternative?

If you are planning to use the brush on a mineral surface (blocks, pavers etc) then you should be fine with these metal heads. Please remember that you don't have to push hard as you should allow the brush to do the work for you however, if you are still concerned, we have bevel brushes with synthetic bristles which are much softer so ideal for areas such as tarmac or where you are concerned about potential damage. You can find these alternative heads can be found in the accessories tab above or by following this link.

I have a sandstone patio that is full of weeds. Should I use a metal or plastic head?

Sandstone is a soft stone so you may find that the metal brush heads, especially the knotted bevel brush, could offer too much resistance therefore could mark the stone. If you definitely want metal then the crimp bevel brush is much softer than the knotted so will clear without the very harsh attack of the knotted. If you feel that you need the strength of the knotted then why not look at the knotted wheel with which you should be able to get between the slabs to remove growth without touching the face of the stone.
