12. I don't get why Lady Lisa... (spoilers) - Pixels (2015) Discussion - MovieChat
Lady Lisa becomes 'real' because she's the only human being among all the game characters who came alive. All the others were just animals or some other kind ...
Why did Lady Lisa become "photorealistic", when none of the other game characters did? I understand the real world reason - so that we all could drool over Ashley Benson kicking ass in her little red outfit. But, we see a glimpse of her character's arcade game in the opening 1982 scene, and she looks like an '80s pixelated game character; when she appears in the present, she's pixelated for a couple seconds, but suddenly becomes "real".
Yes, Galaga, Pac Man, etc. are fictional creatures that would remain pixels, but Frogger didn't become a real frog, Donkey Kong didn't become a real ape, Duck Hunt dog didn't become a real dog, so why was she different? When Ludlow sees her he goes into a speech about how he loves her, he's dreamed about this, etc., and that is what turns her from a "bad guy" to a "good guy", but she becomes real before he says anything to her.
I enjoyed the eye candy, it just didn't fit in with the rest of the movie!
